Our program began in 2011 when two former students (Clark Pappas and Emily Ferdette) pitched the concept to the LPSD School Board.  Originally called "Aperture Robotics", our team was born and competed for the first time as a rookie team in the 2012 season (titled "Rebound Rumble") where we won the Rookie Inspiration Award.  After the 2013 season ("Ultimate Ascent"), the team was rebranded to "Bearbotics".  The upcoming 2027 competition season "Canopy BIOCORE" will be our 16th season in FRC.
